"The curious paradox is that when I can accept myself just as I am, then I can change" Carl Rogers
My work as a counsellor is about creating space between you and me that is safe to be truly seen and heard, just as you are. My work is about inviting the past, present and future into our space with compassion and empathy. It is a phenomenon, that when we meet with ourselves as we are in the moment, we start to trust the parts we have worked so hard to reject and hide.
About Me
I’m Lynsey, a counsellor who believes that real change begins with being met exactly as you are. My work is grounded in compassion, curiosity, and the belief that every person carries a story worth honouring. I offer a calm, steady space where you can explore your inner world without judgement or pressure, a place where your experiences, emotions, and history can be understood with dignity.
My approach is relational and humanistic, shaped by the idea that healing happens through connection. I walk alongside you, helping you make sense of what feels overwhelming, unclear, or unspoken, so you can move forward with greater clarity and self trust.
How I Work
I work in a way that is:
- Collaborative — we explore together, at your pace
- Person centred — your lived experience guides the work
- Trauma aware — safety and emotional regulation come first
- Reflective — we look at patterns, relationships, and the deeper meanings beneath your feelings
- Culturally and spiritually sensitive/Identity, heritage, values and beliefs
Who I Work With
I support adults who are navigating:
- Anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional dysregulation
- Low mood or loss of direction
- Relationship difficulties
- Identity, belonging, or self esteem
- Childhood experiences that still feel present
- Family dynamics
- Life transitions, grief, or uncertainty
- Shame
