1) The first step is to contact me. I understand that for some, this can be a challenging step. Rest assured, there is no judgment and certainly no pressure. I will then contact you back and we will book an initial assessment.

2) Initial Assessment
30-Minute Assessment: We begin with a 30-minute initial assessment to understand your needs, narrative, and expectations. This session helps both of us determine if we are a good fit to work together.

3) Contracting and Start of Therapy
Post-Assessment: If both you and I are happy to proceed after the initial assessment, we will formalise our agreement and start therapy within one month. I will forward you a contract which stipulates the framework I adhere to, along with GDPR/ICO and confidentiality commitments.

If I feel that my approach would not be suitable, I would explain why and guide you to a different counsellor or refer you to a service.

4)Exploration Phase
First few Sessions: These sessions focus on exploring your needs, understanding your story, and clarifying your expectations. This helps in building a strong foundation for our therapeutic relationship.

5) Middle Stages
Negotiation and Development: We will collaboratively negotiate and develop a plan for the middle stages of therapy. This phase is adaptable and tailored to your evolving needs.

6) Focus Areas: We will work on specific goals and challenges, using various therapeutic techniques to support your progress.

7) Ending Phase
Compassionate Conclusion: As we approach the end of therapy, we will focus on concluding our work with compassion and sensitivity. This phase ensures that you feel supported and prepared for the future.
Interchangeable and Adaptable: The entire process is flexible and can be adjusted based on your needs and progress. We will regularly review and adapt our approach to ensure it remains effective and relevant.

My Work as Your Counsellor
Authenticity and Realness: My primary goal as your counsellor is to be authentic. I strive to be my true self in every session, acknowledging that I am not perfect. This authenticity helps me build extraordinarily real, open, and honest relationships with my clients. When you feel safe and we engage on a deep, meaningful level, the true phenomenon of therapy happens.
